It is a little darker than pictured.These stools were perfect for our school project. We needed stools to go around our lego table which is tall. They are the perfect height, light enough that the kids can move them, they stack to where we can put them on a shelf under the table (as they are laid down of course). We went with red which is one of our school colors and the red is a vibrant red. They seem durable for what we needed them for. We have bought these twice if they tells you how much we like them.Needed replacement outdoor 30" seating for our grill/bar area. Afraid to commit to any color online - prefer to see color in person since shades are iffy on a computer screen. Very happy with this purchase. Overall quality is EXCELLENT and the color is a muted red - not barn-door red.I've included 2 pictures to show the color during early sunset and after sunset in front of a cedar wood backdrop.
